Baton Rouge in April

Jazz Fest, LSU Baseball, The Funny Bone....

April is the first really warm month here in Baton Rouge. Everything starts to bloom and the extremely long summer gets going. With the warm weather everyone likes to get out and that mostly means festivals. Other than my birthday I don't have alot on the calendar but I'll share here what I feel are the best choices for Baton Rouge area entertainment.

2006 Jazz Festival:

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is a traditional yearly festival held at the Fair Grounds Race Course. April 28-30 and May 5-7 featuring Bruce Springsteen, Fats Domino, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews Band and many many others. Sure to be an absolute excellent time even after all thats gone on with the Hurricane. Ticketing, hotels and information are all available on their website which is quite rocking! Tickets are of course available through Ticket Master.

Hang out at Tsunami's on top of Shaw Center for the Arts:

April is one of the few months that its not too hot to hang out in the evenings and night. Probably the best outside view in Baton Rouge is from atop the Shaw Center at the beautiful Tsunami's Sushi Bar. I will definitely head down there at least a couple of times this month. Some very beautiful pictures of the view are available at The Shaw Center's official site.

LSU Baseball:

Ok the LSU baseball team isn't the best they've been but they're still pretty good and 8 games to be played in Baton Rouge for April including Arkansas and Alabama matchups. The LSU Baseball schedule is available here so check it out.

Funny Bone Comedy Club:

I've heard that John Morgan(The Raging Cajun) is headed back to do the Funny Bone this April as well as the funny Cowboy Bill Martin and Billy D. Washington. The schedule is here.
