Baton Rouge in October

Halloween & State Fair

I've been slacking lately in writing for my Baton Rouge events page due to work and personal projects for another specifically Baton Rouge site. Thankfully in October the weather in Baton Rouge isn't quite as hot plus we have Halloween and the State Fair.

Baton Rouge Halloween

One of my favorite events is Halloween. In downtown Baton Rouge there is a large yearly haunted house called the 13th Gate. Its a great time but expect to wait in line if you go to it. Usually stays open for about a month. There is also a pretty neat corn maze located just outside of Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge Halloween Party

There is a pretty good halloween party every year at Southdown's Bar over off of Perkin's road. My girlfriend and her friends go to it each year and it looks like a great time for those 25 years old and older.

Greater Baton Rouge State Fair

Take Airline Highway towards Gonzales/New Orleans and you can't miss the fairgrounds. The yearly state fair offers alot of live music concerts and the usual carnival atmosphere that you expect with a fair. Its a pretty big production thats alot of fun running from October 26 to November 5th.

Baton Rouge Basketball League

A great time for the late part of the year in Baton Rouge is to put together a basketball team and play in the Baton Rouge Amateur Basketball Association. They have divisions based on skill so if you're an ex college player you've got a league or if you're just a guy like me who has never played even high school ball you have a league. Good fun and good exercise.
