Buying a Nintendo Wii

Finding the thing in Baton Rouge, LA.

In a true display of "times are a changing" my wife caught the fever for the ultra hot Nintendo wii this past weekend after visiting friends and family. Her uncle purchased a Wii for her aunt on Christmas and boy was it the big hit. In a display I've never seen before the women enjoyed the video game system far more than a men. Proof of what I'd been hearing about that Nintendo had hit a homerun on systems that appeal to men, women and children of all ages. Everyone was involved in the game fun which is far from what game systems had done in the past which was cause the boys(of all ages) to neglect everyone and usually incur the wrath of parentals.(or spouses)

Finding The Nintendo Wii In Baton Rouge

Michelle wakes me up and forces me to get dressed under the guise of running some errands for an hour on Saturday morning. Little did I know that I was going to Best Buy Baton Rouge, Wal Mart, Target, Game Stop and having a discussion with every stores sales folks about how they get 100 calls a day about the Wii and the Wii Fit system. We disappointingly went home without a Wii and only tales of how you have to check every place in town every week and wait in line at Best Buy ever Sunday morning just in case they get the product in their shipment.

Wii Hunt Not Over

I thought it would go to the side for a few days/weeks and hopefully wait a little further from Christmas but noooooooo! Sunday morning I have to get dressed under the guise of going find shoes for myself. The next thing I know we're searching THE OTHER Best Buy of Baton Rouge, other Wal Marts, the other Game Stop to no avail.

So this Monday(today) while I'm at work I get the call that Michelle has ordered the Nintendo Wii online and all the add ons such as the Wii Fit. So like 13 year old boys I remember begging for that Playstation 2 my wife has finally run down her Nintendo Wii.

Gaming has truly come full circle. Of course the hardcare male gamers are still plugged in to their headsets playing X-Box and Playstation 3 online. It's hilarious watching 30+ year old men curse and fuss with 12 year old kids. BUT now the ladies all want the Wii. They love the party aspect as my wife and her Mary Kay friends play it at their gatherings together. The Wii Fit is simply genius as it only fuels the female appeal.

Something for everyone now.
