Baton Rouge Italian Restaurants

Casual guide to Italian food in the city!

Here are the the places I like best in Baton Rouge. We of course have the chains such as Macaroni Grill and such but I want to list those places which are unique to the area.

Baton Rouge Italian Restaurant Guide:
  • DiGulio Brother's Italian Cafe [Official Site] - This place was absolutely great every time I've gone there. Its a casual dress place but the food is the absolute best Italian I've ever had. My girlfriend loves the pink sauce pasta and pizza. I love the veal avezzano. Great for a casual date.
  • Ruffino's Italian Restaurant [Official Site] - A most excellent and upscale restaurant situated on Highland road between I-10 and Airline. Its got sort of an LSU feel to it due to its owners. The food is absolutely great. The building is huge and I know the accomidate private or large parties.
  • Pocorello's Italian Grocery - [Official Site] - An extremely casual establishment serving sauces, sandwiches and muffalettas. They've been around forever and are situated on Coursey near Sherwood Forest.
  • Rotolo's Pizzeria - [Official Site] - They're a pizza delivery place but they also have a dine in area at their Baton Rouge establishments. They have great Italian food for the cheap price. The daily specials for the Coursey location are great and most people around LSU order their excellent calzones
  • Mortorano's Italian Deli [Unoffical Site] - Downtown on third street near all the bars and clubs. I ordered a stromboli there and it was really good and fresh. They also had a buffet for people to choose from on their lunch break.

If you own or just want to recommend any great Baton Rouge restaurants I don't have listed here then please mail them to me at Baton Rouge restaurants at jerryodom.com and I'll see about listing them here for you. If you've got a website for a restaurant in the area I'd love to see it too. Linking to Baton Rouge places helps.
