Baton Rouge Mexican Restaurants

Baton Rouge has alot of Mexican grills and cantina style places. As a result Cinqo de Mayo has some of the best parties and you can always find a good Margarita if you want one. Superior Grill also has one of the best times you can have for happy hour on Thursday evenings. What makes these places really cool is for the most part they're owned by either Baton Rouge or New Orleans businessmen. So here we go with Mexican food in the big BR:

Baton Rouge Mexican Restaurants:
  • Superior Grill [Official Site] - A great place to have food near the downtown area on Government street. Live music on Thursday evening is to me one of the best early night things to do in the area.
  • Las Palmas [Official Site] - This is a local chain of stores that can be found on just about every area of town around Baton Rouge. They're also really fast with their food so its quick for lunch. Modest prices as well.
  • Casa Maria's No official website but I believe the owners of Casa Maria and Las Palmas are affiliated and probably friends. Their menu, prices and settings are very similar.
  • Serrano's Salsa Company [Official Site] - I really like the margaritas at this place. Its got locations in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The Baton Rouge location is pretty convenient being at the North Gates of LSU near Chimes street. They have a pretty kicking Cinqo de Mayo party
  • La Carreta [Official Website] - I first checked this place out in Hammond before it opened in Baton Rouge. This place has some really great food. In BR its located on Government street near downtown like Superior Grill.
  • Ninfa's - A very popular place right off of College drive at Interstate-10. Very easy to find and they've got some great food. Ninfa's has some great Margarita's as well. I looked for an official website because I thought this place to be a chain. I can't find one. Its located right near the Holiday Inn Select, Embassy Suites and a few other hotels in that area so its really good for out of towners to check out.

If you own or just want to recommend any great Baton Rouge restaurants I don't have listed here then please mail them to me at Baton Rouge restaurants at jerryodom.com and I'll see about listing them here for you. If you've got a website for a restaurant in the area I'd love to see it too. Linking to Baton Rouge places helps.
