Baton Rouge Seafood Restaurants

Includes Creole and Cajun Restaurants

I group cajun, seafood and creole restaurants together because they tend to go hand in hand. Much of Louisiana food revolves around the preparation of our vast supply of fresh seafood. Everyone has heard of boiled crawfish! So here are the places to go have seafood.

  • The Chimes [Official Site] - located just outside the North Gates of LSU on Highland Road. I'd say this is one of the best places to go for great tasting Cajun cooking and an all around great time. They've got something like 40 beers on tap and a selection of around 200 total beers. Sometimes I drive across town for the crawfish etouffe. New: They opened a second location on Coursey. Chimes East.
  • Mason's Grill [Official Site] - Hidden away on Old Jefferson this place features absolutely awesome Saturday brunch and a rich and flavorful regular menu. They've also got a big bar in the back with great beer on tap. A local favorite and probably one of the lesser knowns with the younger crowd.
  • Parrain's Seafood Restaurant [Official Site] - Great place to go have seafood off of Perkin's in mid-city. I've enjoyed it just about every time I've gone there. I wouldn't say its the best but its good.
  • Bonefish Grill [Official Site] - another new restaurant I've yet to go to but from what I've heard its a great place to go drinking and great food. Right up next to PF Changs on Corperate.
  • Capitol City Grill - Two locations in Baton Rouge. The first being on South Sherwood Forest just south of I-12 and the second being downtown next to the Shaw Center for the Arts(Lafayette Park). Capitol city grill has some great seafood and specials. Soft shelled crab topped with crawfish etouffee is to die for.
  • Mike Anderson's Seafood [Official Site] - This is probably the most popular seafood restaurant in Baton Rouge. Mike's serves a large variety of very good Louisiana style entrees which you're sure to enjoy. Located on Lee Dr. which can be reached via College Dr. Interstate 10/12 exit. Mike also has a location in Gonzales just off of I-10 at Holiday Inn.
  • Copeland's Cajun Restaurant [Official Site] - Copeland's is a famous New Orleans based restaurant that features a variety of spicy cajun dishes. Located on Essen lane which is easily accessible via Interstate 10.
  • Boutin's Cajun Restaurant [Official Site] - Another cajun restaurant that features a more rustic Louisiana setting. They also have live cajun music on weekends which is very very entertaining. You can get up and dance on the large dance floor and many people do. Located on Bluebonnet lane which is easily accessible via Interstate 10.
  • Juban's Restaurant [Official Site] - They call themselves Baton Rouge's finest Creole Restaurant and caterer and they could be right. I've gone here a few times and have always been so pleased with the excellent venue, food and service. Great place for business, pleasure or both. Located on Perkin's road & Acadian throughway close to Interstate.
  • Heads and Tails Seafood [Official Site] - Pretty good place to go get some boiled crawfish or boiled crabs.
