Battlestar Galactica

Great Show Even For Sci Fi

Being the big science fiction dork that I am I naturally gave Battlestar Galactica a shot when it first came out on television in 2004. Most science fiction shows flop pretty fast or never get off the ground but this show was much different. Within a few episodes you see that this show isn't a flat, low budget and cheesy show literally every other Sci Fi show is. Its drama, its realistic and its written for adults.

Quality of Cast

The cast is chosen very well and the characters make you really feel their part. The key rolls of Admiral Adama, President Roslin and Baltar all make you really feel the directions they push the show in everytime they make a major interaction. The supporting cast are great actors and they create sub plots worthy of the show.

Good Computer Graphics

The space battles and situations are great. The ships look neat and I find the zooming camera angles to be very cool. Battles and explosions are well done particularly in the pitched Battlestar vs Basestar shootouts. Whats best is that they regularly introduce new angles, ships and details.

Adult Situations and Language

In order to keep a true interesting story running they've kept the show adult. The character interactions are believable and add to the story. Through creative cursing language the writers have brought the story to a complete adult level especially with the military situations. Its like you'd feel things would be on a ship full of people on the run and at war with a superior enemy.

Good for non Sci Fi fans as well

The great part about Battlestar Galactica is that others enjoy watching this show. The situations, graphics and quality of show make it good for them. Its no wonder that this show has quickly ballooned past all other shows and is the only one maintaining further episodes. I look forward to a good run of Battlestar Galactica.
