Recent news concerning Google and its updates has brought about a bunch of news concerning Splogs. Splogs are spammy blogs that people use to improve their rankings by copying and pasting content into freely available web space at services such as the very popular Blogger.(Blogger is a great service that got a big boost when it was picked up by Google in 2002.) Google likes blog and of course they like their blogger so for a while there alot of people suffered in the rankings and I had to hear about it on message boards.

So naturally I had to sign up at blogger. Jerry Odom's Blogger page

Blogger and many of the blogs that it hosts has a more easy feel than say Myspace from first glance. Its designs are pleasing to look at but that may just be a consequence of the nice default templates that are available for users. I've flipped through a bunch of the blogs posted at random and have found that many of them are by those who really like to write information for others interested in the same. Looking at the designs it appears that I've got a little more research to do on how the templates are customized but its got to be easy to be so popular. People appear to be writing rich and interesting blogs on just about everything under the sun.

Blog search rocks

They've got a Blog Search available so that you can search blogs from around the web. Just awesome as you can find people talking about anything. I spent an hour looking at LSU blogs half way through writing this. Just looking though the blogs of others I can see the appeal of setting up a quick and easy webpage where you can talk about stuff that interests you from any ole WiFi zone.
