LSU VS. Notre Dame

LSU Representing the SEC in the Sugar Bowl

lsu Well looks like all of us LSU Tiger fans who tried to reserve Rose Bowl tickets are now going to have to figure out how to get the Sugar Bowl tickets thanks to the huge BCS shake up announced today. USC blew their big chance to get back in the title game by dropping to UCLA, Florida beat Arkansas and jumped over Michigan in the standings causing a huge shuffle in the bowl matchups for the BCS.

No Roses for LSU

The Rose Bowl represents the best of the PAC-10 and Big-10 when those teams aren't playing in the BCS national title game. USC lost which pushed LSU out of that game and into the at large spot for the Sugar bowl vacated by the Florida Gators. So LSU will not get their first chance to play in that game and instead will head down the road to New Orleans. Should be a great party!

Florida feels the benefits of winning the SEC championship game

Resembling what happened back in 2003 when LSU pushed out USC for the national championship game shot the Florida gators jumped over the idle Michigan team to face off with Ohio State for a chance at the title. This once again shows the benefit of playing in a tough conference and winning the always tough title game. Hard work has its rewards.

Urban Meyer talks Play off system

I don't agree with the idea that there should be a play off system to decide who is best in the nation. My reason is simply at the end of a football season and a handful of teams have clawed out 1 or 0 loss seasons they're all the best in the nation and in most cases could all beat each other on any given day of competition. I believe part of what makes college football great is that lots of things can happen. At the end of the season the cards lay where they land and we all deal with it. Many of us talk about that one call or play that if reversed would've made our team the champions. A play off doesn't settle this it simply adds more competition so while you might be more definitive on who you believe is champion there is always still some reason why this team is better than that one. Play off system possibly better than the BCS but definitely not much better than the BCS and certainly not perfect so why use it?

LSU vs. Notre Dame

Notre Dame hasn't beaten a quality opponent all year long. LSU has had nothing but quality opponents and most of them have been on the road in very tough battles. I don't see Notre Dame being competitive in the Sugar Bowl and continuing their losing bowl record to 9.
