Watching Soccer

Does LSU Play Soccer?

For a while now I've tried to watch soccer. It all started when the 2006 World Cup came around. I have two good friends(Casey and JP) who played soccer and enjoy the game. We and a good deal other people sat at Fox and Hound watching team USA compete with the rest of the world. All the fans around this game reminded me of LSU football fans. Die hard, insane and very much in to the game.

So from time to time I've seen it on one the cable guide and tuned in. With the low scoring and a fast pace it's difficult to watch. I imagine it's much easier when you're brought in to it but when you're new it's tough. Today I figured out how to watch it when I tuned in to a live game for the Premier League who just started their season.

Get a book, sit down and work on your computer BUT leave the game on television.(you must have DVR for this) You look up and watch it but you don't get tired and if the crowd and the announcers start to get loud you look up! If something amazing happens(like a score) then you hit rewind on the old cable remote. It's great.

I can't wait until the next World Cup. I have a feeling that the sport will gain far more popularity by then in the USA. We're dying for another sport around here and other people are seeing it especially with things like MLS acquiring the ultra popular David Beckham. It's fun and different.
