Spyware Strike

Spyware to remove spyware. Conspiracy?

I'm really starting to wonder if Microsoft doesn't have some sort of deal with virus removal companies. My family and friends have always asked me to help them remove viruses and unwanted spyware/scumware from their computers and I have. However recently its become harder and near impossible to remove these programs. Whats more is that they represent themselves as spyware removal companies. So now spyware companies install spyware and then offer to remove it if you pay them. No souls, no respect and no way I can see this really being profitable.

Spyware Strike

My example is spyware strike which installed itself somehow on my fathers computer. Its a two party Spyware Package(this link describes the program in detail and further down talks about how to remove it. But here is an easier explanation if you need it: Spyware Strike Removal) which will install itself and then start to annoy the crap out of you warning about malware being installed on your machine.

Don't Use The Spyware Strike Faux Remover tool

If you click one of the blinking things that keep popping in your face it runs a faux spyware detector and lists a ton of spyware crap that you can have removed IF you register with them and of course pay them. It slows down your computer and runs things into the ground. Whats more is I've seen multiple versions of this type of deceptive approach. Its not really a spyware removal tool but a ploy to get money by what I classify as extortion

Spyware is even harder to remove

It had been for a long time that I could easily remove any spyware or adware that became installed on a machine. I would clean the registry, delete the files, clean the Add/Remove programs, clean the browser and the computer would once again operate normally. Now days thats not so because spyware companies are installing programs that are harder to find and even harder to remove. They literally hold your system hostage!!! Why is it that a bunch of crummy little companies can out program the biggest company around in Microsoft? Can't they prevent it?

Microsoft in on spyware?

Obviously they don't have deals with spyware companies but they certainly don't seem to be going out of their way to make Windows XP secure at the same pace spyware companies come out with new ways to hold your machine hostage? People are making millions of dollars and causing billions of dollars in click fraud by using spyware and adware on unsuspecting users machines. Even more money is being made on selling 3rd party software to stop spyware but why? Microsoft wrote the operating system and they can't protect it? I say they're in on spyware because they're not willing to stop it. Oh sure they come out with patches for their operating system and make press releases but lets face it, they're losing. How is it that the software Goliath is always a few steps behind these companies? I set my family & friends computers to automatically update but they're still always getting infected with something really bad and aggressive. Microsoft has no soul and no with to stop spyware. Lets face it spyware is good for business. Who cares about the consumer? Not Microsoft.
